Basically, the more you learn, the more you need to practice. You're better using basic fundamentals because that's what you've been practicing forever. The moment you implement anything to those fundamentals, you'll be temporarily worse as you add it to your normal play. Then once you get it down you'll be back into your normal skill level, if not better than you were.

It's very weird to have a video that talks about how combos are the easy part of fighting games and that fighting games don't revolve around combos...only to have the entire video thesis demonstrate how you just need to bait openings to do a 70% HP+ combo - and how they're also hard to execute actually. Don't get me wrong, I love neutral game and mind games - and I do pretty well in it and I agree with the intended argument. But implying in the first few minutes that "fight games don't revolve around spamming combos and combos are the easy part" before spending the entire rest of the vid contradicting that while sliding in 'because you need neutral mind-games too' is kind of hilarious.

Hey Brian, when going against Akuma: Demon Flip use LP DP, Air Foreball always use MP DP, never LP. If he jumps from full screen to Air Fireball, then use HP DP. Never fails, will keepem grounded for the rest of the match 😂

when akuma does air fireball from really far away, I tend to find ed's heavy (and sometimes medium) dp to be good at sniping him from far away. since air fireball still counts as an air move, the anti-air invul is a wonderful thing.
